Video For Online Visibility
Videos and specifically Youtube videos are a great way to get online visibility for the local brick and mortar business owner. There are many things to consider when uploading a video to the web but one of the most important and often overlooked is keyword optimization for SEO purposes. This helps the search engines like Google and Youtube know what your video is about so they can send it to people searching for what you are talking about.
Three Places for Keyword Tagging
Before you create a video or any online content for that matter it is important to know the keywords that are pertinent to your marketplace. The most important part of video creation of course is having amazing content that adds value to your viewers lives and making it engaging. After you have that you need to optimize it for the search engines to help it get found when you start to distribute it.
Title-make an engaging title using the keywords. The closer they are placed to the beginning of the sentence the better. Unless you are an established Youtube partner it is better to use keywords than to think up some sort of groovy title.
Description-Make sure you put a hyperlink in the first few words of the description. Then you are free to describe the video using up to 5,000 words. You could even make it a blog post. Be sure to use the same keywords you used in the title. In your writing of the description keep in mind your keywords and latent keywords as you write. Do not over stuff the content as you will be penalized for this but make it fit in with the flow.
Tags-use the same keywords you used in the title and other variations or related words. Try to limit tags to no more than five so as not to confuse the search engines.
Now that you know this, why not go and try it on your new video uploads. Please feel free to share it here when you do. Thanks for reading.
